Hair Fall, Hair Loss, Baldness-The Agony Continues

November 24, 2007

hairloss

Once upon a time, hair loss was a sign of ageing. We all knew that grandpa is bald because he is old. If such was the case now, then people in their twenties should be called “Grandpa” and “Grandma.”

Hair fall and hair loss is the most common problem which we all face very early in life. This is across continents and nation, irrespective of race and climatic conditions.

There are various reasons for hair fall:

  • Improper diet

  • Genes

  • Hormonal Imbalance

  • Dandruff

  • Wrong choice of shampoos

  • Frequent coloring

  • Styling products

  • Health problems

  • Unhygienic ways of handling hair

  • Reaction to medications.

There are millions of remedies available to treat hair fall. Starting from Ayurvedic oils, Ayurvedic Dhara treatment where the person is laid and oil drips, drop by drop from a hanging pot onto a specific point on the forehead. Various herbs and plant extracts are available for eating and application. Then there is homeopathy which offers miracles.

Various salons and spas have their own hair treatment therapies and packages. Hair vitalizers, hair packs (similar to face packs), root stimulating machines and many more products are available throughout the globe. If there was a cure for hair loss and baldness then I am sure there would be no balding men and women in this world.

There are no magic cures for hair fall. Genes play a vital role in balding. Currently Prince William is also facing a similar problem inspite of being in his twenties. When living like a prince causes hair loss, then think again what will happen to the commoners like us in this world.

Dieting Mistakes-Learn How To Tackle And Overcome Dieting Blunders

November 22, 2007

Sometimes we tend to overeat, especially those foods which are not recommended to be consumed in excess. Here are some tips how to compensate the overindulgence of food and lead a balanced and healthy lifestyle. It is said that the recommended daily intake for salt is only 6gms.

Excess salt leads to high blood pressure and it is also known to increase the chances of osteoporosis. Packaged, pickled, ready to eat meals along with sauces and many other products contain too much salt. To curb this, hide the salt shaker from the table and keep only the pepper shaker. Spice up the food with sprinkling dried herbs, lemon juice and other seasonings.

If you are guilty of eating a whole bag of chips then drink plenty of water to flush it out from your system. Drinking vegetable juices also help in getting rid of the salt residues in the body. Learn more on Fruit and Vegetable Juices- The Homemade Health Drinks If you are guilty of fatty and oily food then eat a fibrous fruit after that. This really helps to bind the fat and allows the fat to leave the body faster.

Eating walnuts helps as it protects the arteries from fatty build-up. Overindulgence of sugar too causes an imbalance in the system. Apart from causing heart disease and diabetes, it also packs extra calories around the waist. So whenever you have indulged in too many sweet treats drink a lot of water.  Ground cinnamon of about half a teaspoon added to the diet helps reduce blood sugar levels

It’s Raining Orbs

November 21, 2007

Orbs“Many paranormal researchers and enthusiasts firmly believe that orbs are ghosts or spirit souls in the form of balls of light. They are the life forms of those who once inhabited a physical body here on earth.” Such topics intrigue us whenever we come across them in the newspapers or view such events on the numerous documentaries. But how does one feel when they are a part of the real deal? Well, that is exactly what happened to me.

I was collecting holy water from the river Ganga at Sivananda ghat in Rishikesh when these photographs were captured innocently. There was no eerie feeling or perkiness of the sixth sense that I was being watched. But then, one cannot expect to feel such chills on the holy land of Rishikesh. In Hinduism, the river Ganga is not just a flowing water-body but she is Goddess Ganga. Her pure water washes off the sins of sinners just like a lenient mother who forgives her children’s mistakes. She carries with her the prayers offered from the living to their ancestors and the ashes of the dead to a better world.

Orbs Actually we are not really surprised with the existence of orbs but are amazed with the proof so clear to the naked eye. We do know that souls are always hovering in places of pilgrimage in the hope of achieving salvation. Souls over this holy water reconfirm their subsistence and that after death, they are moving towards their destination.

Photographs such as these shock us like smelling salts recharging a fainted individual, compelling us to re-evaluate our current existence and the quality of life that we are leading.
