Writing Goals For The New Year
February 28, 2008
We tend to push away all those worries and have a wonderful time during the holiday season. Now it’s time to wake up. The New Year is here and a month has passed. So what are you doing? Do you have a plan? Have you made any resolutions? Empty promises work for a while and then suddenly in the middle of the year you realize that all you had thought of never materialized and you have no clue why.
Let’s make this easy. Jot down of all the articles/ stories that you have in your mind that you want to forward to the publishers. Take a note of the rejection letters. Then systematically analyze them. See whether you need to tighten them or change parts of it to suit the next market and soon you will be in the flow of things. Buy a beautiful planner and neatly write down the tasks that you want to complete. Then review your accomplishments over the weekend. Voila!! You will be in-charge of your writing goals again.
An initial nudge is needed because most of us feel the pressure of the New Year. The failures and promises of the last year are carried forward and when the year is here, you are forced to act on them. If there is any consolation, rest assured that we all are in the same boat.
