Food For Good Hair
January 22, 2009
Most women desire long hair. Flowing, dark hair seemed to allure men in the past but now maintaining such kind of hairstyle is impossible.
Hair fall due to dandruff, frequent hair coloring, hair extensions has led women to get their hair length short. Hair stylists insist on a short bob or layered cuts to give the head some volume of hair. Hair sprays, volumising shampoos and conditioners give a temporary boost to the hair.
The best way to hide thinning hair is to get a good haircut. Avoid the latest hair trends and celebrity hairstyles, instead go for a look that suits your face, lifestyle and that needs little maintenance. Remember celebrities have personal stylists so it is hard for the rest of us to maintain their hairstyle on a daily basis.
A healthy diet tends to improve the quality and texture of hair. Good nutrition is essential for hair growth. Junk food, fried foods, aerated drinks are enemies of the hair. These tend to make the hair course and brittle, leading to easy hair breakage.
Here are some general food tips for good hair
1) Diet should contain fair amounts of vitamin B. Some good sources of vitamin B are bran, beans, carrot, nuts and soya beans.
2) Avocados, olives in salads are a good way to ensure luxurious hair. Avocado oil and olive oil also give the skin a healthy boost.
3) Stay away from animal fat. Vegetarian diet is good for hair growth.
4) Green tea is said to slow down balding.
5) Avoid worrying and taking unnecessary stress on why you are facing hair loss. This only worsens the situation.
Consult your doctor or nutritionist who will be able to guide you correctly. Once they point out your deficiencies, eating the right kind of nutritious food or dosage of vitamin supplements will surely make a difference in your natural hair growth.

Shoe Fetish And Shoe Care
January 17, 2009
Shoe fetish is not limited only to women. But it is rare that men honestly admit to it. Buying shoes every season brings joy to many. There are times when some women wear a pair only once before they discard it or throw it at the back of their cupboard. The biggest problem they have is how to store them and take care of them. Besides this, women should know how to take care of their feet to avoid corns and bunions. These can ruin the look of any sandal and stilettos.
Being stylish is essential and to attain this status one needs to select the right pair of shoes. It is crucial to create the right impression after all you may have spent your month’s allowance on it. The decision to wear a pair of shoes should be dependent on the weather. You certainly cannot wear knee-high boots on a sultry day.
Shoe Care Tips:
1) Store shoes in shoe boxes. Don’t discard the box once you get home.
2) An alternative to shoe boxes is cloth bags.
3) Make sure the shoes are stored in a cool, dry place.
4) To retain the shape of the shoe, invest in a shoe tree. Storing shoes with stuffing is also a good idea to maintain the shoes shape.
5) Avoid stacking shoes on top of each other. This ruins the shape and adds grime and dust on them.
6) Leather shoes can be well protected by wiping them with a dry, soft cloth. To further protect them, neutral polish should be applied periodically. This can be in the form of cream or liquid polish.
7) Fabric shoes should be gently brushed off with a clean cloth and fabric cleaner can also be used. But read the instructions carefully. First try the fabric cleaner on a small section before dabbing the whole thing on the shoe.
8) Stains and marks on shoes can be removed by gentle brushing or with sponge suede.
9) Avoid wearing leather when the weather is wet.
10) Make sure that you keep dry leather shoes from sunlight.
Simple shoe care tips go a long way to ensure that you maintain your shoe collection in style.
