Creating A Perfect Writing Mood
May 16, 2007
Is your writing affected by the changes in the weather? If it is then you are not alone.
Getting cozy under a blanket or next to a fireplace is an ideal way to enjoy the winter. But this does affect your dreams of being a best-selling author. Why just blame it on winter? Monsoons are my personal favorite. Sitting on the window sill of my fourth floor apartment, watching the raindrops patter on the mango trees, glancing at the people honking to get the traffic going and watching the children jump on water puddles while returning from school. These are fun ways to spend time.
Do you see a potential in this? I could actually start writing a story with the list of things that I just witnessed from my window. “That Rainy Day”- it’s a workable title…good enough to get my grey cells to work.In a way, the changes in the climatic conditions can help us think out of the box. A hot summer afternoon, when all you wanted to do was to enjoy a big glass of chilled lemonade and found that you had no lemons. Would you go to buy lemons? Ring the doorbell of the new neighbor? What would you do? Let the story begin …..
Nothing can stop a writer from writing; no weather can weather his creativity.
