Terror Of The White Page-Part 1
May 9, 2007
Staring at the blank page of a writing pad or notebook can make many writers nervous.“What should I write? Should I start off with an essay or imagine a brawl and begin a fiction piece?”
Next, we start thinking on how to introduce the characters. The tips and pointers of all the books and magazines that we have read, try to take it effect. Sometimes the information starts getting muddled up and then……….. “I will do it later.”
The writing pad closes.I am sure you will suddenly think of all the chores that are incomplete and that you have been meaning to do them for a very long time like cleaning the garage, arranging the bottles on the spice rack, greasing the hinges of the doors or sorting out the clothes that you wanted to give away.
There is nothing wrong in admitting this because I have done this so many times. But does this help? You may spend the day doing the tasks that has taken precedence but at the back of your mind, you know you are guilty of not working or worse that you didn’t even make an attempt. “Well, tomorrow is another day.” This helps to console us at bedtime.
