But our Rishis gave us this festival as a symbol of guidance for Karma Yoga.
In these four months rain falls -so God gives us Water and also major crop is available during these four months. So all required materials of life is given by God during these months when God is said to be sleeping. And on Kartik Ekadashi, when God awakes from sleep, our farmers go to temple with part of their new crops and offer it to God with a prayer that ” Oh God, you gave us so much of grains of cereals and pulses etc, while we sowed only few grains in our farms…” Then God says, No..No.. I was sleeping and it is fruits of your hard work….
Actually God has done every thing but still he says he was sleeping so he has done nothing- Thus this is a lesson that one should work hard bur when it is time to reap fruits, one should go behind and give credits to others. This is a real KARMA YOGA lesson from Dev Shayani Ekadashi.
