Hi, my name is Jennifer and I am married to a hindu guy. I and my Husband are used to do Ganesh Sthapna till during Ganesh Chaturthi till last year and Now I am in the last Trimester of Pregnancy.

Some people said, We cant do pooja or Sthapna this year during Ganesh Chaturthi. Is it True? I am really looking forward to get right guidance.

Hello, My land lord is Hindu, and I took some interest, in learning about His religion, before choosing to worship a certain god and/or idol, there are many many things that I would in fact need to know, your blog was very informative and i am glad I found it. for Now I only have one question, the blog seemed to have covered the rest.
is it a necessity, to have an idol/statue in your home, or is it a choice?

I wish to seek some clarification on the fast during Sankashti.

1) Does it mean total restriction of food. Can “Upasi” food be consumed during the day?
2) What exactly are the prayers to be done during the fast?

Hi nayna,

Very useful information indeed… I m planning to keep Ganpathi this year onwards, but someone told me that for the first year , the ganpathi moorthoi has to be gifted by someone else. Is this true? Also, as I’m in fourth month of pregnancy, one of our friends told that if we bring Ganpathi home, we cannot do the visarjan this year. We’ll have to do it next year only. Please explain as i’m very confused.
