5 Tips To Avoid Ear Aches
September 2, 2007
Ear aches can be extremely painful. It takes place commonly when we get a cold or accumulation of excess wax. Some people tend to produce more wax than others. A blockage due to excess wax can cause temporary hearing loss, ear ache, ringing in the ears or a sensation of fullness in the ear.
Here are 5 tips to avoid ear aches:
1) The area inside the ear is sensitive. Treat it with care and avoid poking, prodding it with sharp objects like bobby pins, pencils, pens or fingernails.
2) Always blow your nose gently, one nostril at a time.
3) Make a point to wear earplugs when swimming.
4) The US National Library Of Medicine states that there are several ways to treat a wax blockage in the ear. A doctor may choose to use mineral oil, baby oil, glycerin, hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. The ear can also be flushed with a syringe full of water at body temperature directed into the ear, then drained.
5) There are over the counter solutions available to melt the hard stubborn wax but this should be done only after consultation with the doctor.
We take hearing as granted but a slight error or negligence can affect our day to day life. So make sure that you take proper care and look after this precious gift of hearing.
