1) Include food containing niacin. Niacin, a water-soluble vitamin which helps the body release energy from protein, fat, and carbohydrate during metabolism. 4) A test conducted by the researchers of St Michael’s hospital in Toronto showed that they instructed their test subjects to add several servings of whole grains, nuts and beans to their diet. After a month, they were tested and the results showed that these people had indeed lowered their bad cholesterol by 30% than what they had before starting the test.

5) Eating five to six small meals a day can reduce cholesterol upto 5% as compared to those eating one or two large meals in a day. This is study is available in the British Medical Journal.

6) Trans fatty acids containing in foods like French fries can really play havoc in your system.
