June 13, 2007
Do you sleep as a couple but wake up alone in bed? Is your intimacy loosing its charm? Then it is your snoring that is causing the wedge in your love life. Find out how easy it is to treat your snoring and experience a radical change in your life.
One of many romantic gestures that couples enjoy doing is to cuddle in bed and sleep in each others embrace. Just as you get swept into the romantic wave, out comes the vibrating throttle from your partner’s mouth.
Initially, you try to ignore it but it just gets louder. Frustrated, you decide to take the couch. Welcome to the end of your intimacy.
Snoring is common in both the sexes but studies indicate that it is more predominant in males. One of the main reasons of snoring is excess weight. The weight gained restricts the smooth and regulated breathing pattern while you lie down. So try shedding those extra pounds and feel the difference.
Alcohol is your partner in crime if you let it get to your head. It affects your nervous system, making the tongue more relaxed than normal when you are asleep. This causes the snore to be even louder than normal. So it is best to avoid alcohol before bedtime or keep sufficient gap between happy hours and getting intimate.
The posture in which you lie in bed also affects your snoring. When people sleep on their back the lower jaw drops from its usual position and this produces the vibration of the soft palate. Using extra pillows on your lower back gives a slight elevation which helps to reduce snoring.
Another simple solution is to sleep in a room with a humid temperature. This keeps your throat moisturized while sleeping. A dry throat is capable of more vibration and produces a louder rapture.
Snoring is a harmless sound which one unknowingly emits in sleep. But its consequences affect the loved one who shares the bed. The intimacy in a relationship takes a lot of nurturing to build and it comes crashing down like a stack of cards because of snoring. So make an effort to curb it and revive your intimacy.
