Sometimes we tend to overeat, especially those foods which are not recommended to be consumed in excess. Here are some tips how to compensate the overindulgence of food and lead a balanced and healthy lifestyle. It is said that the recommended daily intake for salt is only 6gms.

Excess salt leads to high blood pressure and it is also known to increase the chances of osteoporosis. Packaged, pickled, ready to eat meals along with sauces and many other products contain too much salt. To curb this, hide the salt shaker from the table and keep only the pepper shaker. Spice up the food with sprinkling dried herbs, lemon juice and other seasonings. 

If you are guilty of eating a whole bag of chips then drink plenty of water to flush it out from your system. Drinking vegetable juices also help in getting rid of the salt residues in the body. This really helps to bind the fat and allows the fat to leave the body faster.

Eating walnuts helps as it protects the arteries from fatty build-up. Overindulgence of sugar too causes an imbalance in the system. Apart from causing heart disease and diabetes, it also packs extra calories around the waist.
