Food Court In Malls, Junk Food Eaters Paradise-Here’s How To Manage Your Appetite During Shopping

July 2, 2008

Food Served In MallsMalls across the globe offer tired and hungry shoppers a chance to relax and nourish their fatigued body. Long hours of shopping can be exhausting. And what do these food courts offer?

Junk Food!! Nothing but larders of fat.

Burgers, deep fried potato chips, cheese dripping pizza and greasy vegetables. Foods are displayed under spotlights and their smell is devouring. If you plan to resist that, then the menus listed with tempting photographs make you visually hungry.

Even if some of us only want to relish on a steaming cup of coffee, the aroma of fried food and munching, slurping people automatically gives rise to hunger pangs.

Gobbling on junk food is a common site today and young adults are victims of it. This is the only food they know. The temptations of such foods are so immense that not a second thought goes in its after-effects on the body.

Awareness is needed. It is vital that parents and care givers take time off and explain how the accumulation of such fats affect the heart, the digestive track and the metabolic rate. Obesity can be treated at an early stage before eating junk food becomes an addiction.

How To Manage Your Appetite In Food Courts At Malls:

1) Have a good breakfast/meal at home before you plan your day at the mall.

2) Avoid drinking sodas while window shopping. They give you empty calories and make you hungrier.

3) Avoid snacking on chips as you stroll.

4) Sip on ice water instead of carbonated drinks.

5) Order your lunch without extra cheese and gravy.

6) Steamed rice is a better option than pasta. People serving at food courts are also teenagers, they drizzle a lot of oil while preparing pasta. This gives the end product a shine and the added softness. Opting for steamed rice keeps a check on the excessive oil.

7) Stir fry vegetables are better but not the best. Avoid too many sauces because they contain a lot of salt and MSG.

8) Avoid eating out daily especially at food courts.

9) Drink a lot of water after consuming junk food.

10) Green tea is also beneficial after gorging on fatty foods.

11) Train your mind to avoid junk food. Instead go for fresh fruit smoothies and milkshakes.

12) Become aware of the health hazards of high fat diet and spread the knowledge amongst friends and families.

Let us all work together and eradicate this global problem called Obesity.
