Food For Good Hair
January 22, 2009
Most women desire long hair. Flowing, dark hair seemed to allure men in the past but now maintaining such kind of hairstyle is impossible.
Hair fall due to dandruff, frequent hair coloring, hair extensions has led women to get their hair length short. Hair stylists insist on a short bob or layered cuts to give the head some volume of hair. Hair sprays, volumising shampoos and conditioners give a temporary boost to the hair.
The best way to hide thinning hair is to get a good haircut. Avoid the latest hair trends and celebrity hairstyles, instead go for a look that suits your face, lifestyle and that needs little maintenance. Remember celebrities have personal stylists so it is hard for the rest of us to maintain their hairstyle on a daily basis.
A healthy diet tends to improve the quality and texture of hair. Good nutrition is essential for hair growth. Junk food, fried foods, aerated drinks are enemies of the hair. These tend to make the hair course and brittle, leading to easy hair breakage.
Here are some general food tips for good hair
1) Diet should contain fair amounts of vitamin B. Some good sources of vitamin B are bran, beans, carrot, nuts and soya beans.
2) Avocados, olives in salads are a good way to ensure luxurious hair. Avocado oil and olive oil also give the skin a healthy boost.
3) Stay away from animal fat. Vegetarian diet is good for hair growth.
4) Green tea is said to slow down balding.
5) Avoid worrying and taking unnecessary stress on why you are facing hair loss. This only worsens the situation.
Consult your doctor or nutritionist who will be able to guide you correctly. Once they point out your deficiencies, eating the right kind of nutritious food or dosage of vitamin supplements will surely make a difference in your natural hair growth.
