November 8, 2008
Dizzy spells can really take control of your psyche. You don’t know when and where this overwhelming feeling will take over, leaving you helpless. There are many reasons why a person could get dizzy.
Conditions That Lead To Dizziness:
1) Crash Dieting: This is extremely common. Most people go in for fad diets that suck out all the nutrition from the body, making the body very weak and prone to frequent dizzy spells.
2) Sun Stroke: If exposed to the sun for long hours, one can feel dizzy. This is mainly due to dehydration.
3) Medications: The side effects of certain medications can lead to dizziness.
4) Blood Pressure: Fluctuations in blood pressure can cause one to feel dizzy.
5) High Stress Levels: Too much stress can disorient a person and some may experience dizziness.
Precautions And Care When Suffering From Dizziness:
-
The moment you feel the onset of dizziness, sit down.
-
Stop using any machinery or tools when you are dizzy.
-
If you are driving, use emergency lights and park your car as soon as possible.
-
Keep water bottle handy. Sipping water slowly can help the situation.
-
Eating candy or anything sweet tends to stabilize dizziness.
-
Many feel dizzy when they wake up in the morning. It is best that you rise slowly from bed or spend few more minutes in bed until the blood pressure stabilizes.
It is crucial that a doctor should be consulted. Frequent dizziness is not normal. It is the body’s way of saying that something is wrong. So it is best that it should not be ignored and the right diagnosis be done in time.
