Simple Home Remedies To Manage Sunburn

Sun Burn With the excitement of summer and fun at the beach, we unknowingly get sun burnt. Helpless and despair are what follows when we are back home.

Here are some tips to cool off sunburn:

1) Milk is an excellent remedy for any kind of burn. It has tremendous cooling power. So dip a clean gauge in milk and apply it gently to your sunburned skin. Repeat this every two to four hours. Milk can smell so it is best to wash the area with cool water later.

2) Coolness from vegetables is also very beneficial. Place thinly sliced raw potato, cucumber or apple on sun scorched areas. These also help in reducing inflammation.

3) Bag of frozen peas or corn wrapped in a clean cloth, applied on the burnt area also helps to soothe the pain. It is important that you wrap the packet in a cloth or soft fabric before applying it on your skin.
4) Regular intake of vitamin E in the diet in the form of wheat germ, soybean oil and nuts decreases the chances of inflammation that people get from sunburn.
