The Graveyard Restaurant
December 19, 2007
Would you believe if I told you that people have a restaurant over tombs? And the people who come to dine here are not ghosts, ghouls or zombies, but the living? Well, it blew me away when I read this piece in the Times of India.
New lucky restaurant in Ahmedabad, India is one unique place where one can enjoy dining with the dearly departed. The customers are happy and enjoy a nice, leisurely cup of tea without giving much attention to graves between the tables.
Krishna Kutti Nair built this café four decades ago over a Muslim cemetery. He has no clue who all rest in this graveyard but he feels that this place has really given him good business. The graves are painted in green and are shin high, adorned each day with fresh flowers.
This seems to be an ideal place for those who enjoy tranquility while dining because no place is more peaceful than a graveyard.

Got something to say?

Well i m not very sure. But after reading this many scripts about ghost i do feel that the incident happened top me might also be ghost or something unusual……
I was 16 when i loved to staying out with my friends all day long and till midnight. One day my annoyed father put me out for coming late and asked me to stay out. Well i was a bit annoyed and went up to the roof of my house. All cats were surrounded to me and few of night birds. I m not sure which breed were they because i never saw such birds around my locality.
Many of my friends used to say me about ghost in our locality. But thant night ghost was not that came to mind. I came down from the roof and was sitting in the lane, were i heard noise of dogs barking. I knew it was coming closer to me so to beat it away i took an iron rod and started to search the dog that was approaching near. But i could only hear noise and not see the dog. The voice was very close but when i turned there was nothing. I walked few steps to search the barking dog, but find none. The voice was very close to my ear but i was not able to see the dog.
When i shared the incident with my friends next morning they said to me that iron keeps ghost away from harming you. Well i was not sure a ghost really or dog?
Hi Aashu,
Thanks for sharing your experience. Your friends are right. It is believed that iron kept close to the body keeps spirits/ghosts/entities away. If you feel very strongly about this and to keep your mind at peace, you can wear a iron bangle/ kada. You can get a silver or oxidized finish on it so that it looks aesthetic and stylish on your wrist.
Feel free to write in again with any of your experiences. Our readers would love to hear from you.
