Why Do Ghosts Haunt Castles?
We always associate castles with ghosts and paranormal activities. But are we really to blame?
People travel all over the world to old abandoned places or deserted neighborhoods. Stories, rumors, urban legends get connected to these placed. Soon the media gets a whiff of this. Then people note sightings, followed by investigative teams gearing up with hi tech equipments measuring cold spots, night vision cameras, voice recordings and many more. And that place suddenly becomes haunted.
Not all castles are haunted. Maybe they are made to believe so that there have more visitors and thus they can maintain and manage the upkeep of that place. The possibilities are numerous.
But some castles do seem to absorb all the emotional events that have taken place over the years. Bizarre rituals, torture, suicidal jumps, death by hanging, illness like plague do take a toll on the number of death counts. Over the span of centuries these emotional energies that are trapped in those walls causes ghosts to take an interest in such environments.
The spirits wander around finding it hard to cross over and keep repeating the same activities that lead to their untimely death. Many are unaware of their death and continue languishing on their torturous end. Several mediums have proven their skill and managed to communicate and helped them to cross over.
Numerous incidents have been noted that people have witnessed apparitions dressed in period costumes and large hats. The most commonly used method of perception of ghosts is telepathically through the mind.
But for many it is the thrill to capture such phenomenon on tape. When ghosts don’t disturb us then it is best not to disturb their space.©Nayna, 2007. All Rights Reserved.
