Retail Therapy Gone Out Of Control

March 20, 2008

Retail TherapyWomen are more prone to retail therapy. This therapy makes them feel good. Retail therapy is nothing but shopping. It could be window shopping, strolling around shopping malls and actual purchase as well.

Retail therapy elevates one’s mood and brings excitement in those who are feeling low and depressed. If you are having a bad day at work, buying something nice for yourself can sometimes make a difference. Few hours of bright lights, surrounded with buzzing people and a bit of money will surely pep up anyone’s mood.

This is fine as long as people indulge in simple pleasures. It is certainly not for those who go out of control and buy things beyond their budget. Then it is a serious problem. It leads to shopping addiction known as Oniomaniac.

Doing anything in extreme is never good for the mind, body and the pocket. So learn to maintain equilibrium in everything you do. That is the best way to enjoy life.
